Frequently asked questions

What is GentlePath? GentlePath is an independent funeral logistics coordination and family advocacy service. We help families organize communications, schedules, providers, pricing information, and important service details following the loss of a loved one. Is GentlePath a funeral home? No. GentlePath does not replace a funeral home, funeral director, cemetery, crematory, clergy member, or other service provider. We work alongside the providers selected by the family to help coordinate the overall process. How does GentlePath help families? GentlePath serves as one central point of coordination. We help manage communications, appointments, schedules, deadlines, provider details, and other logistical matters so families do not have to handle everything alone. How do I get started? Tell us your wishes, preferences, important contacts, preferred providers, budget considerations, and any special instructions. Complete as much or as little of the form as you choose. Once it is returned, a GentlePath coordinator will contact you to review the information and explain our services. What happens when a death occurs? Contact GentlePath as soon as assistance is needed. A dedicated coordinator will review the documented wishes with the family representative and begin coordinating with the selected providers. Can I enroll before GentlePath’s services are needed? Yes. ReadyCare™ allows you to document important wishes, preferences, contacts, providers, budget considerations, and special instructions in advance. This helps GentlePath begin coordination more efficiently when assistance is needed. Do I need to have every decision made in advance? No. Complete as much or as little information as you choose. Your preferences may also be reviewed and updated as circumstances change. Can a family member complete the information for someone else? Yes. A family member or authorized representative may provide information on behalf of another person when appropriate. Who makes the final decisions? The family or its authorized representative always retains decision-making authority. GentlePath provides coordination, information, and advocacy but does not make final decisions on the family’s behalf. Does GentlePath select the funeral home or other providers? The family may select its own funeral home, cemetery, crematory, clergy, florist, transportation company, venue, and other providers. If additional options are needed, GentlePath can assist with research and coordination. Is GentlePath affiliated with particular providers? GentlePath is designed to remain independent and vendor-neutral. Our responsibility is to the family—not to any particular funeral home or service provider. Can GentlePath help review funeral costs? Yes. Our PriceCheck™ service provides an independent review of pricing and available options to help families better understand proposed costs and make informed decisions. Can GentlePath negotiate with providers? Our Guardian™ service offers additional family advocacy and may include reviewing agreements, comparing options, and communicating with providers regarding pricing and service considerations. Any final decision remains with the family. Does GentlePath guarantee savings? No. GentlePath may identify pricing differences, unnecessary costs, or alternative options, but savings cannot be guaranteed. The availability and price of services depend on the family’s selections, location, timing, and providers. What services are currently available? GentlePath is launching with GentlePath Essentials™, PriceCheck™, and Guardian™. Additional services will be introduced over time based on scheduling, availability, and the evolving needs of families. Please ask your coordinator about current and upcoming offerings. How are payments made? Payment is made by direct deposit when GentlePath’s services are activated. Your coordinator will review the selected services, applicable fees, and payment instructions before coordination begins. When are GentlePath’s fees due? Fees are due when the family activates the selected GentlePath services. Any applicable pricing will be explained before services begin. Does GentlePath handle the deceased or legal documents? No. The funeral home, funeral director, cemetery, crematory, or other authorized professional remains responsible for the care and transportation of the deceased, permits, authorizations, and legally required documentation. GentlePath helps the family coordinate and track the related arrangements. Can GentlePath provide legal, financial, or medical advice? No. GentlePath does not provide legal, financial, tax, medical, or funeral-directing advice. When specialized guidance is needed, families should consult an appropriately qualified professional. Is my information kept private? GentlePath treats personal and family information with care and uses it to provide requested coordination services. Information may be shared with selected providers only as necessary and authorized to support the family’s arrangements. Please review our Privacy Policy for complete details. What if my wishes or contact information change? Contact GentlePath whenever information needs to be updated. Keeping provider selections, family contacts, preferences, and special instructions current helps make future coordination more efficient. What areas does GentlePath serve? GentlePath’s initial focus includes the Philadelphia and South Florida regions. Assistance in other locations may be available depending on the family’s needs and coordinator availability. How is GentlePath different from a funeral director? A funeral director manages the services provided by the funeral home, including the care of the deceased and required funeral documentation. GentlePath helps the family coordinate the broader process across all selected providers, schedules, communications, and logistical details. How can I contact GentlePath? Visit GentlePath360.com to submit an inquiry or request assistance. A coordinator will contact you to discuss your circumstances and available services.
